Emily was baptized on July 2, 2011; by her dad. She was so excited for this day. Because of Emily's cast we were not sure when she would be baptized. She got her cast off June 20th. Emily still struggled walking on the day of her baptism. The bishop was worried about Emily having the strength to be dunked in the water, but she did great.
Grandma Farnsworth made Emily's beautiful dress and hair bows for her.
Our ward was in charge of the stake baptism for July. What ever ward is in charge does the musical number and the talk on baptism. It was fun this was our month. I ended up speaking on baptism. Emily, Aaron, Dylan, Keaton and Kayla Cummins sang "Come Follow Me." My mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. She brought 5 gifts in fancy gift bags. Each item taught about how the Holy Ghost helps us. She had the kids come up and pick a gift to open and then explained each one. Emily chose the FIRE TRUCK: The Holy Ghost can be a warning siren. When we hear the siren, we know there is danger and we need to move over for the fire truck. The Holy Ghost will warn us if there is something that could make us do something wrong or if we are in a place that is unsafe.
BLANKET: Another name for the Holy Ghost is comforter. This comforter is warm and soft and when you wrap it around yourself you feel safe and secure. This is the same feeling that the Holy Ghost can give you. He makes us feel better when we are sad or worried. You can have a warm, peaceful feeling inside and feel sage when you listen to the Holy Ghost.
COMPASS: The Holy Ghost is also like a compass because he will guide you in the right direction and help you make good choices. He will help you find your way home if you are lost. The Holy Ghost will help you find your way home to Heavenly Father.
SPONGE: We use the sponge to clean dirt away. The Holy Ghost helps us to be clean inside. When we make a mistake, and then we say sorry and repent, the Holy Ghost helps us to be clean again. He helps us keep our spirits clean.
CANDLE: The Holy Ghost can light your way and help you know the light and truth of the gospel.
How precious to hear the testimonies of our parents.
