4,000 Mile Trip

Are we crazy? We loaded our kids in the car and drove out east. We had a blast and would like to do it again in about five years. We went and saw all the church sites in Nauvoo and Kirtland. It is so beautiful there with all the trees and everything is so green. We actually went because John was selling a Dodge Polara car in an auction in Indianapolis, Indiana. We figured it would cost the same to drive the car there as it was to ship the car. The bonus was we got a trip out of it. John has two sisters that live in Cleveland Ohio and we were able to visit and stay with them.We drove through Navoo on Sunday. I felt sad thinking we would not be able to go into any buildings. Guess what, they are all open on Sunday. The church does a special sacrament meeting early in the morning for the missionaries and then the missionaries are able to have the sites open. Here we are in the Navoo visitors center.

Kirtland Temple: Heather, Elisha, Preston, John, Joseph, Dylan, Brianna, Rory, Emily, Felicity, and Aaron. We went on a tour of the Temple first, then to the Newell K Whitney store. Talk about amazing. The temple was beautiful and neat to see but I felt nothing. I should not say nothing I was in awe at the craftsmenship and how beautiful the temple was. But in the red room of the store, Jesus Christ appeared there...... The spirit was so overwhelming and amazing.
